PayGoAuto Roadside Assistance is a Division of RAAC (a DBA of White Knights Emergency Auto Assistance). Founded in North Texas in 1989 and originally positioned as a free service for apartment residents, our business serves as a unique leasing and retention tool for property management professionals.
Today, PayGoAuto Roadside Assistance continues to play a dominant role in the auto industry by delivering the same great services to the general public. We remain a family-owned and operated business that takes great pride in returning dollars to local economies through our dedicated team of technical providers, who proudly demonstrate the same integrity and professionalism we require of ourselves. Meet the Team
Charlene Jarman: Chairperson
Ms. Jarman has been in the roadside assistance industry for over 25 years. Her marketing skills and management training make her a perfect fit for Chairperson at PayGoAuto Roadside Assistance. Foreseeing trends and marketing new ideas comes to her naturally, whether she’s guiding large commercial accounts or establishing new ways to improve the everyday experience of our customers.
Ms. Jarman has received many awards for her accomplishments and endeavors. Her proudest achievement was being honored as the inaugural recipient of the Dean Jarman Lifetime Achievement Award for her dedication to the roadside assistance industry. She is an active member of the Texas Apartment Association, as well as the Apartment Associations of Greater Dallas and Tarrant County. Ms. Jarman has served on the AATC Board of Directors, AAGD Legislative Council, AAGD Trade Show Committee, TAA Public Affairs and Education Committees, and NAA Military Housing Committee. She was also appointed the Chairperson of AAGD’s M-Team.
Steve Schmidt: Presidentsteve@paygoauto.com
Mr. Schmidt has also been working in the roadside assistance industry for over 25 years. A transplant to Dallas/Ft Worth from Cincinnati, Ohio, he originally got his start with Roadside America Auto Club through his training in finance. Steve’s skills in researching and creating new initiatives gave rise to the vision for PayGoAuto Roadside Assistance. He saw a real need to aid the general public with solutions to routine car problems, when it’s needed most. Rather than offer membership fees that accumulate even when no services are rendered, this new division would offer pay-as-you-go solutions with service you can count on.
As President of PayGoAuto, Steve has overseen all facets of accounting while working to expand the company’s reach from dispatching to an established national provider network.
Terri Gamboa: VP of Sales & Marketingterri@paygoauto.com
Ms. Gamboa joined Roadside America Auto Club in 2005, having relocated with her family to North Texas from the Chicagoland area. Terri jumped right in to learn all aspects of the business from the ground up, including Sales & Marketing, Operations and Administration.
Prior to joining Roadside America, Terri worked in the Contracts Division at the Gas Technology Institute in Des Plaines, IL, and in the Consumer Sales Division of Sony Electronics in Itasca, IL.
Tom Schmidt: VP of Operationstom@paygoauto.com
Mr. Schmidt moved to the DFW Metroplex in 1990 to work in the roadside assistance industry as a field technician, while also serving as an assistant dispatcher. Two years later he left for a short time to pursue Sales and Marketing, where he became heavily involved in association functions and networking with other vendor members. His vast experience also includes providing Customer Service for current clients, continuing in his sales role, and ongoing assistance with dispatching. He has also handled various facets of office management, including providing computer hardware, software and technical support. Today, at PayGoAuto, Tom concentrates on dispatching, finance, clerical and IT assistance.
